Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 12, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information Speed Resumes (the “Service”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Service, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Information we collect
We collect the following types of information:
- Account information. Your name and email address when you register, or the basic profile details shared by Google if you sign in with it. If you use email and password, we store a securely hashed version of your password, never the password itself.
- Resume content. The information you add to build your resumes, such as work history, education, skills, and any text or job descriptions you provide.
- Payment information. If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is handled by Stripe. We do not store your full card details. We keep limited billing data such as your subscription status and renewal date.
- Usage information. Basic technical and usage data, such as feature usage counts and limited log information, used to operate, secure, and improve the Service.
2. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
- Generate and analyze resume content through our AI features at your request.
- Process payments and manage your subscription.
- Send account-related messages, such as verification, password resets, and important notices.
- Enforce usage limits, prevent abuse, and keep the Service secure.
3. AI processing
When you use a feature that generates or analyzes resume content, the relevant information you provide is sent to our third-party AI provider so it can return a result. This processing happens to fulfill your request. We do not use this content to train our own models. The AI provider processes the data under its own terms and security practices.
4. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us operate the Service, and only as needed, including:
- Stripe, to process payments and manage subscriptions.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with your Google account.
- Our AI provider, to generate and analyze content you request.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for the Service to work, such as keeping you signed in and protecting against cross-site request forgery. We do not use them to sell your data.
6. Data retention and deletion
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account at any time from your account settings, which removes your profile and resume content from the Service. We may retain limited information where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, or enforce our agreements. For example, to prevent repeated abuse of usage limits, we may retain a one-way, irreversible record derived from a deleted account's email for a short period; this record cannot be used to recover the original email.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and securely hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information. You can update much of your information directly in your account settings, or contact us to exercise these rights. You may also unsubscribe from non-essential emails where applicable.
9. Children
The Service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
10. International users
We may process and store information in countries other than the one where you live. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those countries.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you. Your continued use of the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
12. Contact
